Band on the run !

One of the most remarkable LPs I've listened for my  whole life is "Band on the run"  from Paul McCartney and Wings.
Whenever I live or I am, it reminds me loads of joyful and pleasant moments.
It was 1974, I had started going out with friends, I had fallen in love for the first time, we had been introduced to jeans , we had begun  wear ing bikinis , an I loved  hippie dresses and'' boca-de-sino'' pants. Listening ''Mamunia '' or '' Band on the Run '' or ''Jet '' smelt a gin-fizz( our favourite drink at these time) , a ''bauru '' after leaving the parties , a relaxed and uncommitted days where you only lived, without worrying about anything, except get good notes at school and enjoy life.
The fashion in music, it had been progressive rock such as Jethro Tull, Yes, Pink Floyd and our ears had had enough of it , hence hearing that sweet ,melodic pop songs utterly caught us.
I can't help being very happy when I  listen to these songs !
Thanks , Paul !

Sign your name !

This song was one of my favourite during the end of the 80' s. Terence Trent D'arby released his great album ''Introducing the hardline to TTD'' and the songs '' Sign your name ", '' If you let stay with me '', ''Wishing well'' were included in 1987.  The album sold over 14 million copies. Terence was an R&B singer.
He has released many albums which made much success in the begining  and the middle of 90's and in 2001 he became Sananda Maitrey.
Nowadays, I've heard '' Sign your name '' by Sheryl Crown on radio.
Try comparing both and you could notice how modern and interesting Terence keeps on being!

Gorillaz !

My friend Toby ( my classmate at Cultura) introduced me to this video, I loved it and I can't help listening and watching it the whole day!
I hope you enjoy as I do !

Gorillaz are a British virtual band formed in 1998 by a collaboration between Damon Albarn ( from Blur ) and Jamie Hewllet. The band is comprised of four fictional band members: 2-D ( vocals, keyboard ) , Murdoc Niccals ( bass ),  Noodle ( guitar, vocals ) and Russel Hobbs ( drums ). These characters only appear in animated forms and are not alter-ego of real people. There is an extensive fictional back-story behind these band members, written by Albarn and Hewllet . The albums, several videos and the book ''
Rise of the Ogree" all tells the saga .
They have released three albums : Gorillaz ( 2001) , Demon Days (2005 ) and Plastic Beach (2010 ).Additionally ,they have put out two B-sides collections : G-side (2001) and D-side (2007 )and a reggae remix of  the  Gorillaz album entitled '' Laika comes home '' (2002 )
The band's first single '' Clint Eastwood '' was released in 2001. ( from LastFm ).

Arcade Fire

I've known Arcade Fire since the release of their second Cd- Neon Bible and I really like them.
But I am absolutely  in love with their new CD-" The Suburbs".
The first time I've heard the song The Suburbs- I went straight to Heaven and after I've read Gustavo Brigatti- Remix blog's writer - has adored it and he has felt the same way as I did. Try listenning " The Suburbs",  after you could hear" Read to Start"," Half Light 1" and then" Suburban War" - my favourite and the rest of the CD . Pay attention to Wim Butler's voice and the use of a large number of instruments such as  the guitar, keyboard, violin, viola, cello ,acordion and harp ,drums, piano, xylophone, and French horn.
To top it off, Arcade Fire  resembles my beloved "The Smiths"!

I hope you enjoy as I do!
I can't help listening them my whole day!

Arcade Fire is an orchestral indie rock band which formed in Montreal, Canada in 2003, around the duo Wim Butler and his wife Regina Chassagne. Their first album is 'Funeral' which was released in 2003/2004 and their first single was Rebellion(Lies).  Hear  '' Une annee sans lumiere ".
Their second cd was released in 2007 and their single was ''No car go'';  on August 2010 , they released '' The Suburbs ", (from LastFm )
The Suburbs is'' THE " album !!!!

Everybody's changing !

One of my favourite songs is "Everybody's changing" by Keane.
I'm delighted since the first time I've heard it by Lily Allen.

Enjoy it !
